FITMENT –  Software specifically engineered for the McLaren 570S / 570GT

Description

M-Tuner is an all in one flashing suite that will allow end users to OBD flash their ECU, datalog in high speed, enable/disable dyno mode, and clear faults all from the comfort of their garage or racetrack! M-Tuner integrates all of those features along with a lineup of exclusive ECU features such as Live Map Switching, Rolling Anti-Lag, Auto Start/Stop disable, Left Foot Braking, Kick Down disable, Loud Start enable, Switchable burble calibrations, Custom Airflow calculation and control strategy, and Custom PSI-Based Boost Control. M-Tuner’s software built on Dyno Spectrum’s tuning platform is the first, and only, true at-home flashing device for all McLaren models ranging from the MP4-12C to the Senna. The M Engineering Datalogger utilizes custom RAM reads not limited to logging only UDS or Standard PIDs. This allows datalogging items that the factory McLaren MDS tool can not even access. When it comes to tuning your $40,000-$80,000 M838T/M840T you deserve peace of mind so when shopping for a calibration please be diligent and ask your calibrator what they are using to monitor the health of the engine during the calibration process. If they don’t have an answer it is best to keep searching.

CALIBRATION SUITE FEATURES

Live Map Switching allows for the storage of up to 8 separate calibrations on the ECU at one time which can then be chosen on the fly, and with the engine running, by using the cruise control stalk in a matter of moments. No need to remove the ECU to reflash for calibrations optimized for higher octane. No longer will you need to drive around on race gas all the time if you have a calibration designed solely for 100+ octane fuel. A few simple flicks of the cruise control stalk can have you switching from your 93 octane file you drove to the track on, to your MS109/C16/VP Import file designed for the track! Map Slot selections will persist after keying off.

M-Logger | A feature in the M-Tuner Suite that allows end users to data log up to 75 parameters at speeds of up to 120Hz. The parameters logged are vital to proper engine health and function. Different parameters can be logged depending on situations based on logging profiles. This is particularly useful when diagnosing a mechanical issue with the car or revising a calibration to optimize it for your parts configuration if it lies outside of our standard off the shelf type recommendations.

Clear Faults | Clear faults in many of the most fault prone modules such as the ECU, PCCU, ESC, SRS.

Dyno Mode Enable/Disable | All McLaren models require dyno mode to operate properly on a roller chassis dyno.

Auto Start/Stop Disable (optional) |  Disables the engine from turning off when coming to a stop in normal mode.

Left Foot Braking (optional) | This extends the time you can press the brake pedal before all throttle input is cut off allowing racers to exit corners with more aggression. This does not disable the OEM safety control and will still perform as desired in an emergency situation.

Kickdown Disable (optional) | Allows for the transmission to automatically downshift if it deems it is necessary in manual mode. Many folks who track their car have their shift points well planned out in advance for every corner and unpredictable shifting can be unsettling. This feature disables the kickdown, however special care needs to be taken not to lug the car in manual modes.

Loud Start (optional) | When enabled, and the vehicle is up to operating temperature, the user can start the car with a much more aggressive rev. Simply turn on the active panel and set both modes to track before starting the car. Loud start is only active if the conditions are met. Otherwise it will start normally.

SINGLE FILE CALIBRATION

The Single Map Calibration option is for those who do not see themselves upgrading further in the future, or those who do not wish to have custom features but just want a proven, reliable tune. This includes one map only for your specified octane and parts stage configuration. When setting up your initial order please specify your modifications and minimum octane you intended to use. The single calibration does not include any custom features or provisions for future remote tuning revisions. However, it is listed at a discounted rate. Upgrades are available post purchase for those who’d like to take it to the next level at a future time.

PRO TUNING

For those of you who are looking for every ounce of safe power out of your McLaren, or have parts configurations not specified in the map qualifications, we can now customize your calibration remotely.  Due to the complexity of adding injectors or upgraded turbos there is an additional $500 charge for McLarens with upgraded fuel or turbo systems.

MOTORSPORTS TUNING PACKAGE (INCLUDED WITH PRO TUNE)

The Motorsport Package is for those who are looking for an edge with even more features past Map Switching, Data Logging, and other basic M-Engineering features.

Motorsport Package currently includes:

  • Rolling Anti-Lag  works by inhibiting acceleration while simultaneously building boost to allow for a “rolling launch.” This is all done via the cruise control stalk and accelerator pedal. Simply get to the roll speed you wish to accelerate from, engage the cruise control stalk, floor the accelerator, let boost build for 1-2 seconds, release the cruise control, and HANG ON! You will now accelerate with full boost. Rolling boost is a psi-based target system and boost during Rolling Anti-Lag can be calibrated independently of target boost. Built in safeties prevent overboost and a built in cool down timer prevents possible thermal fatigue issues due to repeated rolling anti-lag attempts.
  • Custom PSI-Based Boost Control allows for complete control of the boost control system while also retaining torque control safety systems. The boost control system will precisely control torque and allow these high revving engines to make peak power without increasing cylinder pressures and torque to dangerous, rod bending, levels down low. Particularly beneficial with aftermarket turbos. This is a psi based boost targeting system with built in PID control and overboost safeties.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

M-Tuning Calibration Suite (ECU Bench Unlock, OBD Flash after)

  1. Remove and mail your ECU to M-Engineering HQ after placing an order on our website or contacting us directly. We will contact you upon ordering to set this up. To have access to all of the M-Tuner features, and M-Engineering calibration features, a one time bench unlock must first be performed. This process does not involve opening the case. The purpose behind the bench unlock is for stability to ensure our flashing process can not leave a vehicle immobilized due to a failed flash. If in the event an unforeseen circumstance occurs where the flashing process does not complete properly, such as walking away with the key in your pocket, insufficient battery voltage, etc, a built in recovery mode allows users to recover and reflash their ECU.
  1. M-Engineering will perform the bench unlock procedure and mail the ECU back to you. General turnaround time is one business day. Meaning, if you send the ECU overnight on Monday, they receive it Tuesday morning, bench unlock it, & mail it out Tuesday afternoon, and you receive the ECU back Wednesday.
  2. The ECU will return to you with an M-Engineering flash drive that contains all the assets for M-Tuner as well as the calibration files, definitions for the datalogger, and drivers for the cable.
  3. Install the dongle drivers by running the openport_setup.exe program. This will install the required drivers onto your PC.
  4. After the driver’s have been installed you can now open and run M-Tuner!

Single File Calibration File (OBD Flash)

Single calibrations come without custom features and cater to one fuel and parts configuration. We overnight a BFlash Slave tool to you along with directions on the install and flashing procedure. This does not include the M-Tuner Suite and tuned files do not include any custom features nor is custom tuning an option. We deliver a base off-the shelf file that are proven to be safe and make power over stock. These files are offered at a discounted rate due to the lack of custom features. This is our most basic level and the current industry standard. Typical turnaround time is 1 day.
